So yesterday, after explicitly asking for 93, Exxon filled me with 87. My obvious anger when I got the receipt was only met by repeated "I'm sorry"s, which apparently was all non-English speaker could muster. I've managed to so far burn off all of about a gallon while driving always under 3000 RPM (to avoid boost). So after just spending $11 for Xylene at Home Depot, I'm kind of pissed off. Anyone ever get a refund from a gas station? I'm tempted to call the credit card company to explain how much of a PITA this is.

As a side note... is it me or is the A4 link on the "AudiWorld Forums" drop down now defaulting to the B6 page? I posted this thread in there by accident.

it happened to me a few times when i lived in NJ. They are just used to pumping 87 all the time.

Yea, definitely chipped. A friend of mine with a Passat got a check engine light when they put 87 in his.

it may set a cel for excessive knock, maybe even a few misfires. But one tank won't do you in. You're on the right track, get some octane booster in there & you'll be fine.

As for the default to B6, Yep, it's doing it for me too.. kinda sucks but, hay, things could be worse.

I was in a hurry, and it's tough to get a refund when the person doesn't speak English.

on mine it shows the B5 A4 being the first one on top or is this more about the main page drop down.

Going through the homepage gets you the new messed forums, but going via "forums.audiworld.com/xxx" still has B5 A4 at the top.
