Default Suggestions for a car for my wife
So my wife has started a new job where she needs to commute 40 miles a day, and needs a new car. We're both really happy with our 01 2.8, but want to spend less on a commuter car. Any suggestions? Right now we're considering a VW Jetta, Volvo S40 and Honda Accord...

can't beat a honda for a commuter car. boring, but reliable, if that's what you're after.

Default Jetta 1.8t Wolfsburg is a great car.
Solid, and pretty quick, even unchipped. safe too.

Accord is liek driving a couch.

Haven't driven an S40, but IIRC, it's based on a crappy Ford platform.

Default I'd also agree with the 1.8T GTI, and if you are looking for some good gas mileage..
Go for a TDI Golf or Jetta. The 1.8T GTI would be my first choice though.

Default Can't argue w/ that. By brother put on 250K OG miles on Acura Integra before trading it in...
...even then it was still going.

Default There was a honda up the road from me for sale... You'll never believe the mileage...
It was around 310,000 miles as I remember. And original motor!!! Car looked good too, amazing.

over 450,000 miles on the original engine!

Used A4? If you insist on new, Jetta TDI would be good for commuting.
