Suspension DIY install?

Suspension DIY install?
i'm just wondering how many of you guys have installed ur springs and shocks by yourselves? I should have access to a spring compressor and what not (my friend works at a body shop). I have another friend who has installed springs and shocks on his passat and and a4 a couple times that can help me out with this, so i think the install should go ok.
I've read the FAQ and i guess my main concern is whether to use new nuts and bolts or to keep the existing ones like it says. Also, did you guys torque the bolts to spec or did you just guess? I want to do this install right and I would love to save myself a couple hundred bucks in the process.

here's my perspective...
i have never done an install, so i didn't approach doing this on my own. a friend was really nice and offered to "help" do the install and had all of the tools, so that's how i got my set in. we used the same bolts and did torque them to stock specifications. there is no suspension noise or rattles, so i'm guessing that is how it should be put together. i warn you though, if you have never done this before, don't attempt it. also, plan on using up about 6ish hours depending on how experienced your friend is. it took us longer than expected, but not nearly a whole day. good luck and enjoy!

An extra set of hands definitely will help...
I'm very lucky that I have a friend who's a Volvo technician. He did my suspension. It's not that bad of a process to do yourself. The only problem we encountered was the bolt that connects the top of the shock to the upper control arms. The bolt and nut were not reusable. Just make sure you have all of the right tools.
Good luck.
Good luck.
