Default sway bar dilemma revised..

i was told that i need new sway bar uplinks, the part that attaches to the bolts. The guy said that the bolts just spun and that there was a "composite" around them, and the only way top get them off would be to ruin them. Is this reasonable or does this guy just not know what hes talking about. TIA

Default Do you refer to the uplinks for the rear or front? Top or bottom bolts?

I would guess that the "guy" does not realize that the uplinks have ball joints that will just turn until you realize that if you push the rubber boot back a little, you will see two opposing flat areas on the bolt that you can hold with an adjustible crescent wrench.

Use a crescent wrench on the uplink side of the sway bar hole and your socket wrench on the bolt side of the sway bar hole and whoola! The bolt comes off!

If you need more help, you can find me in the (no longer secret) 12v Development forum most of the time.
