switchblade

i bought a switchblade key for my 97 A4, but am having a problem programming it. i searched the srchives and found someone else that had the same problem but nobody was able to help with a resolution, so i am trying again. these are the steps i followed.

1. turn key 1 to on in ignition
2. lock drivers side door with key 2
3. press unlock on the remote once
4. lock then unlock the door with key 2'
5. remove key from ignition

all steps work when programming my regular remote, but when i use the switchblade remote the the lights flash, but when i remove the key from the ignition and try to unlock it again, the switchblade remote does not work.

HELP!!!

Are you waiting after pressing unlock the first time?

Here's how I know it.

Put original key in ignition and turn to on position. Insert new key in door and turn to unlock. Wait about 5 seconds. Press unlock on new key. Lights should flash. Remove original key from ignition. New key should work.
