I'm currently running Mobil 1 5W30 in SoCal winter. I just called up to schedule my 15K service and this time, the service manager suggested I bring 10W30 if I can. Personally, I don't think there's much of a difference between 5W30 and 10W30 especially at the climate I'm in. I got 2 boxes of the 5W30 for christmas, so I'm bringing him 5W30. My question is why does this guy have to break my ***** and make me paranoid by 'suggesting' 10W30? Is that the state oil grade of California or something? :-)

I wouldn't stress over the grade you are using. I use Mobil 1 5W 30 in Northern Utah where it gets slightly colder than SoCal. )

I think the important thing is that you use synthetic. That makes my engine run happier.
