Default Technical Question for you Audi gurus...

I recently got a Wett chip installed on my 2000 A4 1.8TQ. I had been really satisfied with it until this past weekend, UNTIL... I took a fairly long drive (los angeles to Tijuana, MX) and I noticed that after some time driving the cruise control stopped functioning properly. A few times it wouldn't engage at all and other times it would engage only to disengage on it's own. I'm assuming the cruise control function is controlled via the ECU, am I wrong to assume this? If so, exactly how does the cruise control work and how should I go about solving this minor problem?

Default 2000+ cars with DBW have the cruise handled by the ECU.

What year is yours?

My A4 is model year 2000 so I guess I have something to discuss with Wetteraur!

A4s have also had problems with defective cruise control switches.
