Things to do when you're bored...
The wife is out of town this week, so I got the itch to do some mods. Unfortunately, the funds are a little low at the moment, so I dubbed this "Cheap *** Mods Week." Basically, it was anything I could do for free or on the cheap.
Monday was Day 1 and it basically consisted of buying all the supplies I needed. Today was Day 2 and I did the clear corners and the polished tailpipe. The clear corners weren't as tough as I had originally anticipated, but they were still occasionally frustrating. The hardest part was moving the amber insert once I had busted up the tabs. Tricky work. Anyway, I think they turned out pretty well. My only question is whether people left in the stock amber bulb or switched it to a clear one. I switched to clear, but am slightly concerned about the legality of this.
The polished tailpipe was a breeze since I had all the supplies on hand to start with. It won't fool anyone into thinking I'm packing a Borla, but it looks a lot better than the rust-covered, blackened carbon monoxide monsters that were under there earlier today.
Tomorrow will be de-badging followed by a good wash and wax, then Thursday is M3 lip spoiler day followed by a new Euro license plate on Friday. Total cost of all the mods and supplies will be under $200 and I think the car will look significantly different, so I highly recommend any of these "mods" for people who are bored out of their minds or dead broke (or both). Plus when the wife gets home she won't ask me why I just spent $800 of our savings on new suspension. Can't go wrong.
I'll post pictures at the end of the week...

I have clear bulbs for blinkers and haven't gotten pulled over(for that) yet

BTW sorry if I seem to keep posting this same pic but I love it so much! except for my leg reflecting back

if your Electrically inclined... (rear ambiant map LED's)

I love the "glow" of your hands with those things shining down, so I said, "hey why not in the rear?" I got plenty of LED's and resistors lying around being a CPET, son of an EET. I drilled two holes, pushed the led's thru, then wired resistors to them, connecting them in parallel to the source that lights up the buttons for the map lights. I like them, even though I never see them, use them, or even admire them, being the one always driving my car. But I think I've had a ttl of 2 people ask me what the hell are they lol.

Cool, so are those always on when the headlights are on?
or do they only come on when the map light is switched on...that would seem like it would drown out the led though...
