Default Thinking of buying a 99 2.8 Quattro
Hi guys,


I went to a local car dealer today and they had a
black/black 99 A4 2.8 Quattro sedan for $18,500.

It looks pretty good and the interior is clean. I'd like to know if this is a good buy and also are there any major mechanical problems associated with this model year A4?

how many miles? I just sold a 98.5 for 18K. It had 40K miles

Default I bought my 98.5 w/ 31K for $19.5.
It also had the Sport Pkg (A must have), Cold Pkg, and Pearl White Paint.

This A4 2.8 has 42,100 miles on it. Good deal?

My '98 2.8 is doing well. I love the smoothness of the V6. 1.8T is more tunable though.

Default At 60K miles the car needs to have timing belt, tensioner and water pump replaced.
If that has not been done then it will cost you $1K.

That is the major thing to look for.
