Default SAAB had those shifter lock out rings . As for Opels ...late family friend had nice one or two

Ray Stoutenburg was my optometrist in NC and knew my family . I got parts for my old Triumph(see pics) from him when I was junior in HS. He raced at VIR , Daytona ,Nassua,Watkins Glen, etc and spend several yrs in europe racing in Panteras ,Opel 1900 and Mantas. When I was in High school 69-73 he had a full race prepped 66 Mini Cooper(actual works race geared car with a 130mph top end),TR3 ,72 Buick, two Ferraris ,66 Ford Lola and an Abarth 1100 with coachbuilt Boano body. I started my first real wrenching helping him tune and do oil changes on a 356GTB4 and rebuilding the 1 bbl Weber sidedrafts on the Abarth. Here are some cool links for those of you that like vintage racing stats. Ray passed away last year . He and my uncle(another car nut) influenced my car habit more than my dad.
Just a few links that I've saved. Some of the names in these logs are legendary .
