Throttle feedback???

Throttle feedback???
Today I noticed that when cruising at highway speed and then accellerating fairly aggressively, that for the first 3/4 of throttle that the resistance from the pedal is "normal". However for the last 1/4 of pedal travel the throttle seems to really push back. I tried this several time and each time it was the same. Is it normal for the final 25% of pedal to feel different then the frist 75% ?? Thanks all.

on a tip its like that..
I dunno how the 5sp works, but on a tip, the car will not go WOT with the pedal on the floor. It's right at the 3/4 way point where the car will give most of the power. It's by design.

On automatics, there used to be a "kick-down cable" that would trigger the downshift...
Don't know if it still uses one. But that resistance you would feel would be the threshold between downshifting and not.

Yup. Here's what I learned messing with my throttle cables, tip and such...
during the PES G2 install.
Beyond the first 70-85% of pedal travel, the engine does not go faster. Because the injector pulse time is full on. The throttle body plate (at least on my 99) is full open. Indeed, the reported throttle position sent to the engine computer is the maximum value (oddly 82%, but that's how they're coded).
So the rest of the travel is for yucks. And to give distance to the kick-down switch, which is sensing throttle cable position and sending a downshift to the tranny if hit (actually it thinks about it, and will not automatically downshift)
Mine does not really increase resistance much at full travel. But your MY might be different from mine.
