Default Time to reprogram remote...
I just had a buddy of mine's remote reprogrammed at the VW dealer for his Passat (windows down, etc.) and they are claiming that it took an hour and want to charge $85. Any idea on how long it takes to do that at a dealer? My audi dealer did it free of charge when I bought the car. Thanks.

It takes about 5 minutes. $85 is a ripoff; my dealer wants $35. Find someone with a VAG tool.

Default 1st reprogam free on warranty, my dealer charges $16 each time after that....
about windows, if you've got little ones, be aware that if you choose to control windows with remote, it disables the no-pinch feature on closing windows.

It pinches harder before retracting after reprogramming the remote. Put your entire hand to test.
