Timing belt - Audi Assured warranty
So I just hit 56K on my recently purchased 99.5 A4 2.8 tip. I have a 2 year 100K warranty from Audi and I'm wondering if I should replace the timing belt at my next service. Considering I have a full warranty am I better off letting the damn thing break? Is there a way to get Audi to replace the timing belt under warrnty (can I complain about a nioise or something?).
Thanks.

Find out when your warranty expires...
make an appt that day to get the tensioner/belt replaced. If it breaks before then (probably will), Audi will pay for the repairs. While the damage is likely to be extensive, it's easily fixed with new parts, and won't have any adverse effect on your long term ownership. Your worse case is that the belts breaks at the worst possible moment, and leaves you stranded, and inconvenienced for a week, while Audi handles the repairs.
You could complain about a rattling noise. Some tensioners will rattle a bit before the belt actually fails, but it's doubtful that your dealer will say "yes I hear that rattle, that's the timing belt tensioner...we'll replace it right away!".

I don't think you understand...
If warranty companies are sending ninja's after me, I'll be blowing turbos and filing warranty claims! They'll be writing checks faster than their little ninja's can deliver the blows.
