Tipchip - initial impressions
So, I sent my tip computer in to be modified by awetuning. I was wrong, it got there thursday soemtime, but anyways. i sent it in, it got chipped, and AWE returned it with my stock chip, along with some lovely stickers and a signature lollipop. I just got it today, and installed it and went for a short 20 minute drive. Here are my initial impressions:
The shifts are faster, but no where near the superbike like shifting as described by GIAC. I wasnt expecting this superbike like shifting, so i wasnt surprised by this factor. The shifts are faster and crisper, probably around half the time it takes to shift.
There still is a slight power loss between shifts, you can feel it just a tad, but now it only happens for a split second, rather than the whole time of the unchipped shift.
On the freeway, 5th gear is just so much better. You can get on it, and not expect the tranny to autodownshift. It also feels more connected when you get on it in 5th. Throttle response also feels much improved on the highway and in general.
These are just my first impressions, and I'll post more thoughts on it as i drive more with it.

I also have noticed the lag between shifts . . .
I have also noticed that the shifts seem more agressive at times. I wish they were always smooth. I am trying to find a pattern in the diference, but nothing to note as to why it would change from time to time in similar driving conditions.
