Tiptronic - can the stupid message to depress the brake while shifting out of park be shut off?

The manual guys have to "depress the clutch" to start their car. It was from the unintended accel.

strange mines starts without any pedels depressed..i have a 97' is this normal???

Default Hmm. You don't have a trip computer right? I'm not sure which year 99.5, '00 it started.
I'm not totally sure, I just noticed it on a few. I don't recall the years. Hopefully someone else will perk up.

That's normal, there is no clutch-interlock on a '97 A4
