Today I got parts to fix my Avant
I need to remedy the presence of a tiptronic in my Avant. No, it is not a dismembered dead body... I know to use the luggage blind when hauling those. I picked up the drive-train from a '98 2.8qm along with the shifter assembly and pedals with hydraulics. I've already got the flywheel, clutch and axles. Just need to order some small parts on monday... ought to be ready to install within a week.

This really isn't necessary.
We've all seen the green bitch. We get it: you're out of your mind. ;-)
Good luck with the project. I hope you're planning on doing it at work with some help.

Necessary is a mater of opinion.
This is not just because I'm sick of the automatic on daily my commute. I missed a season of tracking and I'm not going to repeat that ever again.
If for any reason I am unable to get the sedan on-track throughout the season I should be able to track the Avant that is if it has a manual gearbox. I hated tracking the automatic. Not only are the gear ratios all wrong but the kickdown switch is annoying, the challenge in shifting becomes timing the tiptronic inputs rather than coordinating hand and leg movements like a manual gearbox.
Yep I have plenty of help at work, I expect that the swap from start to finish will be done in a one week window. I work with some very well skilled technicians who are willing to play part in my madness. Some of them even approve of my antics.

No, Not yet.
I need to upgrade my fuel pump & install my N75 before I get it on the dyno for some fine tuning. There are a few more updates I have planned for the sedan before I register it for any track events. I would not be surprised if the Avant is first to set tire on a road course this year. I have been driving the sedan... it now has over 1k miles on the swap, but I am making revisions which will eventually lead to a more reliable car.
