For the most part, the temperature guage on my sister's 1997 A4 1.8 stays all the way to the left side. Once in a while it decides to move up a bit. Rarely, does it go all the way to the dial center point where I think it properly should be once the car is warmed up. Obvious possible culprits include a bad temperature guage or sensor or loose wires. Can any one help me troubleshoot the problem further? For example, where is the temperature sensor located so I can check that it's in properly?
