I am leasing...I'd get a 2002, and it wouldn't be much more than what I had now...maybe $50/month

Default whats the posted city mpg?

are you in alot of stop and go or do u live in a city with lots of hills? both of these cause more gas consumption, more than whats posted on the sticker on the car. 22 mpg isnt bad for a 2.8 v6

Default hah, I'm supposed to get 18 in the city, I am getting 13.5...virtually no hills, but stop/go

but stop and go is calculated into the city mileage! which is 18, that's why they have a number city, and another for highway...

This sucks

Default yup its AWD, but a simpler version

The main difference is the center differential.

Whereas we have a Torsen Diff that locks up with slippage, the BMW is a regular open diff with a
62rear/38front torque slip.

Whats that mean? One good thing is the power oversteer of the Bimmer is there. the bad news is BMW is relying on the ESP equivalent (DSP) to take care of traction lose. That means if a wheel starts spinning, the brakes are used to stop it. Its jerky and its not instanenous as opposed to have a Torsen diff.

Default Really? Very surprising for a V8. How are you calculating this? Is there a trip computer?....

This ain't a flame, I'm just surprised that such a huge engine is so efficient =)
