That's far from a tragedy.
But still a bummer. You were un-hurt, so anything else is just a return on some of the $ you've had to sink into insurance.
My last A4 (also a 2000) was banged up pretty good but a shop can make them look good as new.
Drove it for another year before selling it and it drove just as good too.
Damage was not the same as your as you can see in my pic poster.

How was...
...the quality of work performed? I'm assuming pretty good if you're making a referral. 2 weeks would be more than fine if it's back to spec. I've known many to have shotty work done from seemingly a reputable shop so my level of suspicion is elevated.
