transmission problem

I posted last week about a transmission problem in my A4 1.8TQ tiptronic just before I brought it into service. The service manager tested it out immediately and confirmed that the car couldn't upshift from first gear, either automatically or with the tiptronic. But when they went to fix it the next day, the problem had resolved, and they were never able to identify the underlying cause even after numerous system checks. So I have the car back, and it works find again, but the whole ordeal has reduced my overall confidence in the car.<p>Does anyone have an idea what happened to it? And is there anything else I could or should do? Thanks in advance.<p>Peter<br>

If they couldn't find the underlying cause, how did they fix it?

Do you have a dictionary lying around? Look up the word, "resolved". PJL clearly stated they DIDN'T fix it!
