Transmission Problem
I have a 1996 2.8 A4 AT with 151K. I have had this car just over a year and am having transmission problems particularly when cold. The car has trouble going into drive from reverse. Additionally, if I stop suddenly or brake hard it takes the car 5-10 seconds to get back into gear and then makes a clunking sound. Once the car is running it changes gears just fine.
The dealer I bought it from did change the transmission oil when I brought it to him intially with this problem. However the trnsmision oil change made little or no difference.
