Default is this true?

this is from a x-post
"We use a Supersprint exhaust system, and for the
2.8 there is only the need to change the rear muffler. Supersprint does extreme testing when developing a system and actually lost power when replacing the center section as well. They wont make a system that does not gain horse as well as torque."<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/14182.phtml">x-post</a></li></ul>

Default That makes zero sense, because SuperSprint makes a resonator to compliment the muffler...

...and whats even more amusing is that I've seen PES recommend the "magnum" exhaust if youre considering their G2. The magnum is the larger diameter S4 SuperSprint system (muffler+resonator) that's been "adaped" to fit the A4. The kicker is that it still needs additionl modification to make it fit. Personally, I wasnt comfortable hacking up a brand new $1500 exhaust that's advertised as a bolt on so I returned mine and went for the plain vanilla SuperSprint from the North America distributor (bmpdesign.com).

I'm seriously considering the new Milltek system.

As far as the strut tower brace, I dont have one so I cant comment with authority - but I'd be curious to know why Audi welded started welding a strut tower brace to the A4 body in the 2001.5 model. I would get some more opinions on the strut tower brace before writing it off.

Im not sure what he meant by calling the strut tower brace "vapor ware" because that term implies nonexistence...which is incorrect because there are at least two distinctly different manufacturers/designs out there - OMP &amp; WetWorks.

One last comment - Im not sure what model year you are but it you have drive by wire, do yourself a favor and research the software aspect of the G2 *very* thoroughly before taking the plunge.

Default right now im looking for the quietest aftermarket system there is, and from what ppl say,

supersprint is the quietest one. but im getting diff quotes for the price, ive gotten a $600 quote, $900 and $1000... im not sure which one is the correct price, cuz i dont wanna get anything thats an imitation or something that doesnt fit. btw, ist he milltek system out? any place where i can find info? they suppose to be pretty quiet systems too right? thanx for the info

Default You have drive by wire, which means that your throttle is electronically controlled...

...in stead of the traditional throttle cable. Long story short with the G2, GIAC does not make software for drive by wire models so Ive had serious doubts as to whether the G2 kit was actually updated/tuned for the dbw models.

On your other question, it tough to say because I've never heard the brullen or Milltek. (Milltek is brand new and will be distributed through stratmosphere.com)

I bought the exhaust for a little noise since the stock was near silent. If youre looking for performance gains, you'd be better off sinking that $1000 into a suspension - that will decrease your lap time more than an exhaust.

Do you have a GIAC chip in your 2001!? Several non-dbw (pre 2000) guys have chips.
