Today I was passed by this turbo Eclipse, and the sound of the turbo and BOV was beautiful. It got me thinking about my own car and how silent it is. What, if anything, can I do to get more sound from my turbo. Do BPVs make any sort of desirable noise? Would the Lltek intake help (I have a K&N drop in)?

P.S. I don't want a BOV. It sounded nice, but not nice enough to justify the loss of performance I'd get.

How do you figure you will lose performance with a BOV?

I don't think you'll lose performance if you install a BOV but if you're in CA, you might not pass smog with a BOV installed.

But the BOV helps your tubo relieve pressure in between shifts, right? I thought it helped the performance.

The turbo, intake and BPV sound is very noticable. You can clearly tell when the BPV is openning. Beautiful.

The BPV does the same thing but does not vent it into the atmospher and make a fart sound like a BOV

...less air is going into the combustion chamber PLUS the ECU will think that there is more air in there than there really is and compansates for more fuel. As a result, a greater fuel to air ratio...a rich condition.

They make a N/A BOV in Japan. It obviously serves no purpose, since the cars aren't forced induction, it just makes the noise. I believe it's electronic and you can vary the noise level and duration...I think that's just sad.
