Ug....not having internet at home sucks...=(
Got all moved into the New House over the weekend, and we don't have Phone/DSL...Seems we won't have it active until the 2nd...
Bummer...
On the bright side, the Directv install went on without a hitch...I was pretty worried too. Due to the location of the HD set of satellites (5 of them) they sit between 210deg and 240deg azimuth and 36 deg elevation...
As you can see with all the tree's in the back yard, and large tree's in the neighbors yards, I was a bit concerned. But it turns out that the only patch of clear sky from the back yard happens to be between 200 and 250 deg azimuth! WHEW! To top it off, the neighbors roof comes to just about 30 deg so that was close too! Only hitch is that the Oak Tree in the back yard has a branch that is dangling very close to the signal path. When the storms were coming through last nigh, it interrupted the signal slightly as it blew past.
So I'll have to Nipper that one out of the way...
All in all the move has gone well. Our dog Luci is having a blast exploring her new territory, and I'm having fun learning about all of the neat "features" that the house has.
First up on the list is installing new Door Handles and Deadbolts. As nice as these "antique" doorhandles and deadbolts are, they're not what I would consider "safe". Off to Lowes I'll be tonight picking up some new Schlage locksets...
Next will be installing 3 prong sockets (of course proper grounding will be done...) into some of the rooms to accomodate powerstrips and computers.
After that the true unpacking will begin.
WOOHOO! Home ownership x2!

LOL, five dishes = big pimpin' yo!
That's crazy. I thought having two was bad, five is just ludicrous.
My DirecTV DVR hard drive just took a **** on me this weekend after not even six months of use. Died by overheating itself (somehow). So I went and got a 500 GB Seagate drive, tossed it in, and now I can store a ton more crap.
The old drive was a 160 GB Western Digital.

No - only one dish but five LNBs - but priorities are right - got D* up first :)

Fv<K YOUR COUCH N(&&#R!!! (in his best Rick James voice)
Do you have an A/C fault tester? Worth it for $10. My ISP dumped last night, copper.net is actually pretty damn good and VERY cheap. No DSL available here, so it's dialz-up or satellite.
Also, we picked up birdsong's 99 1.8tqm yesterday. Needs clutch but it has a lotta stuff, $5500. I miss your car though
