Update on my Dad's transmission:
Transmission was in limp mode, would have to get the revs up to about 4k and hold it there then let them drop slowly to get it into gear and moving. Seemed to stay in 4th.
He read somewhere to hold the brakes, put the throttle to the floor, get the rpm's up and kill the ignition.
That is what he did and the car is back to normal. So at-least that proves its not the transmission, but electronic.
Going to be doing fluid, filter, and get it scanned.
