Vagcom code 17963: Negative Deviation

I just vagcom the car on my way to work and on 3rd gear going WOT, I got this code after the run. During the run, I was holding boost at 15-16psi, and after the run, it couldn't go pass 7psi.

However, after 4-5 mins later, the car seems to go back to normal and able to hold boost to 15 again.

some suggestions that I found from the search
- check bpv / vac lines (I have a Forge 007 and changed the vac lines 3k ago)
- wastegate line (will check this one)
- sticky wastegate (seems like it could ruin the turbo)
- MAF (last I did vagcom, it was max at 140g/s at WOT w/ my GIAC 1bar chip) I guess this could be the problem too

anymore suggestions that I should check to tackle this problem?

limp mode from a vac leak..check the "L" shaped hose that runs from your

intake manifold back towards the firewll by the coolant resevoir.

I know someone who got the same code

He checked and changed a lot of the things that you mentioned. In the end, he had his GIAC chip updated to the latest version and it's been fine since. He also has a 2000 1.8T. What's weird is why it would do it all of the sudden. He had been running that chip for at least a year without any problems (he bought the chip and ecu used).
