Default Venting

I just bought a 2001 A4 1.8TQ and was driving on hwy 694 in MN. Some crazy lady in a 2000 A4 was tail gating me. I started to wonder if she was stuck to my bumper. She then proceeded to attempt to pass me in the right lane. I am thinking to myself, there is a car in that lane and a car in front of me, where the hell are you going to go? She proceeded to try and cut me off. I thought outloud hell no and accelerated. She ended up behind me again. What the hell is wrong with her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would imagine with such a nice car, you wouldn't beat the crap out of it like she did. Also, not only was she putting me in danger by her stupidity, but also those around her. I could care less if she friggin crashed, but don't put me in danger just because your stupid *** is late!!!!! All I have to say is what the hell is wrong with some people now-a-days?

Default You're putting yourself in danger by competing with her. If she wants to get by so bad, let her.

Its called defensive driving and I think that we all let our egos get in the way of what we know is the safest way out of these situations.<p>2001 A4 1.8T QMSCBX with Sport Seats

Not really, I was about 3 car lengths behind a pickup truck. I was driving a decent speed, so it wasn't like I was grandma or anything. Besides, someone was in front and to the side of me.

Default there's always some jerk-off who's time is obviously more valuable than yours!! (more)

I am a very considerate driver and I always try to accomodate other people when their intensions are honorable... like letting people merge in, and stuff like that...but on the other hand... I too, will not let someone endanger me when they are being a jerk. I make them stay BEHIND me and not let them cut me off just to get .000001 milliseconds closer to their destination. I always try to keep a safe distance between myself and the car ahead of me.... then when someone deliberately passes me because they think I'm the pace car.... that jeopordizes my safe distance.. so I don't let'em pass. Hey if I'm going too slow in the express lane and someone wants to pass and nobody is right in front of me... then I gladly move over and let them through as I would expect them to do the same for me... but when I'm behind someone else and traffic is heavy, and some a$$hole is weaving and bobbing like a chimp on a sugar high... uh uh... no way... they ain't gettin' around me... period.

another one that kills me is- on my route home from work every night there's an off-ramp I have to get to. It's on I-294 Southbound (Chicago IL) at the 95th street exit. There's a toll booth two miles before the exit. After you get through that toll booth, traffic just backs up in the right lane all the way up to the exit ramp. So I immediately get in the end of the line and ride it out like everyone else. There's always a few ***-wipes who get cute and race all the way up to the front of the line (via the fast moving center lane) and try to cut in at the last second.... basically doubling up on the exit ramp shoulder. Well, when I get to the ramp, I ride the outside of the lane so anyone who tries to pull that sh*t on me is going into the grass. That's BS! We all want to get home to eat dinner... but nobody has the right to cut me off because they are hungrier than I am. Forget it. To me that's almost worse than the jagoff who rides the shoulder to cut ahead of everyone. At least he makes no bones about the fact that he's an asswipe. But these morons who try to cut in at the last minute... that's just a sneaky way of trying to hide the fact that they are nothing but amature wannabe weasels! But we all know better.

And by the way, I applaud the truck drivers who pull over to the shoulder and block those jerks who do that.
