Default I live south of your border, grew up around Nascar team owners, and still think most cant steer

right, some can a bit, but none out there can hold Boris Saids jock in a road race car, or would even try. Just saying this is the only time when I truly enjoy NasGar. 2 each his own, fair?

Default I lived/worked in Daytona for 5 months and still can't figure out what all the fuss is about.

I'm sure there's more to it then just driving around in circles on cruise control but I don't know what it is.

Default Surviving in a 200mph rolling oven for hours

I think that is the appeal, but I could be wrong.

Default Yep in late 1964 when I was 13 years old. I dont know how anyone can drive cars inherantly made to

turn one way can drive well on a road course in one. Remember they are doing the COToday which has very little variation, but that isnt what brought me to answer you.

I am sure things have gotten better by magnitude since those days.... But I wasnt talking about A talent (which driving ovals with the same or better skills than others) I was talking about ALL AROUND talent. If you see what I am talking about and I think you must, there will be a lot of wrecks amd stupid moves and spins and such this w-end. You may go thru an entire GT race without more than a spin or slight contact on average. You can also put a good driver, take Boris Said as an example, and he can be at least moderately competitive in a car that has nowhere the road race capabilities of his GT car. Now reverse the situation for an average or good or any NASCAR specialist and would he fare as well? There are exceptions, I didnt say there werent, but count the wrecks and spins this weekend and you will see why I said it was humurous. NARCAR drivers suffer much and have HUGE ***** to even sit in a car traveling at the speeds they run at. But to say this weekend will not be humorous (unless someone is sadly injured) or that they are as TALENTED as road racers is simply not something that most people who do keep up with racing from a wide view would say. I think Rally drivers are the most truly TALENTED of all because they show amazing (at least to me) skills at every conceivable aspect of driving. Its not that I think the avg. stock car driver is not extremely talented at what he does - I do and I think they are amazing at the thing they do every week, but there is a lot they dont do very well either. I didnt say I was a better driver than any of them, so dont be personal about it, you know what opinions are like don't you? Oh yeah there are the Petty adventures.
