warranty
I went to my dealer today for a checkup and while I was there, I asked him about suspension modifications. He told me that if I did it now, it would void my warranty. Anyone know anything about this. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: warranty
Usually if stock parts are replaced with aftermarket parts, they can void warranty so that if those parts cause damage to the rest of the car, it won't be covered. So if you change springs and thet causes damage to shocks, it won't be covered. If you chip your engine and the chip causes an engine failure, it won't be covered.
On the other hand it is another question how one can proove that for example a chip has caused an engine failure.
To make things harder this matter changes between countries. I'm afraid it even changes between dealer's too! Have a good, long, friendly discussion with your dealer before any changes to your car.
Marko Litmanen
A3 1.8T Wett 1.0 K&N
