The preliminary asessment is that the compressor is a total loss and that the tranny needs to be flushed at the minimum. Water invaded at leaset that far. $1800.00 damages at this point, but as they begin to really work on the car (waiting for insurance adjuster) I am sure more things will pop up. The dealer says they totaled 14 cars due to the storm in Chicago on 8/2 when 4" of rain fell during the morning rush. The good news is that Chubb styled me out in a brand new Volvo S40 from enterprise at no charge until my car is ready. It's no Audi but sure as hell beats most rentals.
