Default everyday is not the correct word to use.

for going to work everyday.. you would not need a chip, exhaust, and etc. Unless your a person that drives for the fun of driving. Not to go to work "everday".
correct me if i am wrong

Default well how much lighter are you talking?

there's a difference between removing a 50lb wheel/tire vs removing 500lbs of crap.

these cars are better suited for the race track where they can handle.

Default Some sample car weights (from Edmunds.com)

Acura RSX - 2721 lbs
BMW 3 Series - 3197
2003 Audi A4 1.8T - 3550
1997 Audi A4 1.8T - 3241
Nissan Maxima - 3432
Pontiac Grand AM - 3583
Chevrolet Z06 Corvette - 3116

The A4 really isn't heavy for what it is. Especially the B5, look at the dang Grand AM! That is a porker.

Default are you telling me that civics and cavaliers with carbon fiber hoods

and huge wings actually have a use for them?

what are your plans for this car? do want to be a 10 second car like the fast and the furious or what?

Default I would imagine that many here DO drive for the fun of driving

That's why we bought the car. Just because it's a little slow acceleration-wise out of the box doesn't mean it's not fun to drive. The roads around your way do turn right and left, yes?

Default there's a difference between tuning your car and making it lighter

why would you NOT want a little bit more power our of your car?

but why would you WANT to remove everything on your daily driver just to make it a little bit lighter?

Default no, I mod for the fun of it, daily use

I rarely ever race, I chipped my car because the extra power is very useful and a loit of fun for daily and spirited driving. I like to enjoy my car every day, and the chip triples the daily enjoyment factor. If I race occasionally, that's just another added benefit of my mods.
