Default Wet weather braking: one potential solution down the drain

My own theory on cause of this wet weather braking delay is lack of splash guards on the front brakes. So, I tried installing ones from a '90/'91 Coupe Quattro. Well, they wouldn't fit.

1) cutout around inner surface on guards too small, had to take off material to open up the cutout diameter.

2) If you were to hold these guards vertically, where they bolt to the hub is a vertical surface. if you go radially outward, before you get to the outer lip, they flare out a bit. This flare interferes with the rotor. Couldn't reform this without totally deforming the shield.

One tip: if you have difficulty getting rotors off when replacing them, use a deadblow hammer. This is a heavy, plastic hammer with what sounds like sand inside. Can really wail/hammer on a rotor without damaging it when trying to break it free from the hub.
