Default Is a Wettereaur 1 Bar Chip Programmed to a specific ECU?

My car got totalled and I have this 1 bar Wettereaur chip left over amongst the spare parts. Is this chip coded specifically to the ECU from my 2000 A4 1.8T Tip? Would it work with other ECUs if someone had the skills and equipment to solder it in?

It cost $300, but that included putting a socket on my old ECU. Just wondering if this has any value by itself.

Thanks

Default Should work in any ECU

My guess anyway. I resold my Wett ECU and it went into another car. IIRC, mine was socketed though.
