Hey guys, I found this lose on my car after it wanted to stall during idle. I pushed it back in but my check engine light is still on and it feels like I have less power.

vacuum pump. replace that asap.

While you're at it, may as well do a PCV r/r. Your check valves are probably rotted out (the one in the pic looks like it)

use the "Optional Image URL" line for a single pic. it's the suction pump. also, looks as if your

Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) vac line needs to be replaced. it's leaking fuel onto the intake manifold. replace all of those small vac lines.

oh, and get a new "L" hose that is attached to that pump. it's known to fail too and the newer one

is stronger.

all of these are cheap parts, just time consuming to replace. definitely DIY.

Would this explain my stalling sensation at idle and lack of horsepower during acceleration? or is there something else? others have mentioned coil packs?

thanks. it's at my friends shop right now and he's going to VAG it tmr.

yes. get a new one and the L hose.
