I noticed the other day that when I slow down I can hear kind of a "grinding" noise coming from the front of the car and when I let off the brakes the noise goes away. Naturally I assumed it was the brakes so I got out and had my wife back the car up and pull forward so I could figure out what brake it was...but when she did I couldn't hear anything outside the car. I took it to my buddies house and put it on the lift and he checked out the brakes....he said everything was fine with the brakes and the pads are 3/4 life left on them. What else could be causing this noise? I know it has to be something with the brakes because I only hear it when I brake, but I can't think of anything else that would make a grinding noise.

What kind of pads are you running? Aggressive pads might grind a little.

I'm not assuming you didn't. But with aggressive pads,
such as PBR ceramics, etc. I've found
that I need to re-bed the brakes
1 or 2 additional times well into their life.

they are actually just OEM pads. I bought the car a little over a month ago from a dealer and they had just normal brakes on them. They did replace the rotors before I bought the car because they were bad.


Somehow I have (2) posts of the same question, can and admin merge them for me?

They should be properlly bedded regardless of pad anyway
