Re: you don't need that crazy tool, just get a big C clamp from a hardware store
Or use a big screwdriver, before you unbolt the caliper, to push the pads back in.
Since the cliper only acts on one side of the rotor, the caliper is mounted on a slider. The slider allows the caliper to float so both pads hit the rotor with equal force. Make sure you clean and lubricate the slides so that you have equal braking on both sides of the pad. You can use high temp wheel bearing grease. Make sure not to get any on the pads.
Alo buy some Brakleen. It is a sprayable cleaner to clean the rotors before install. Buy a few cans, spray everything before you take it apart so you stay cleaner, the rotors should be packaged in a grease to keep them from rusting, so you must clean them.
A factory service manual will help.
Where are you?
You can e-mail me for a cell phone # if you want phone support

Re: I was told this tool will work
Duh. See lower post.. forgot about the magic cube.
Used when you have a parking brake. The rear piston needs to be spun as you push it back in.
I am not certain that our cars do this. I have not done the brakes on mine yet. Can anyone confirm?
