Default What recourse do I have....???? Please... need suggestions...

Here is the scoop. I have had a vibration in the drive line (while in first) for the life of the car. It now has just under 7K miles on it. I finally got the service manager back in Dec to feel this vibration. So they ordered me up a clutch. I finally got scheduled to have this done on Tuesday of this week. As of about 20 minutes ago I got a call from the service mgr. He indicated that they have my car tore apart and that they are unable to resolve the issue because the part they need is on back order for 14 working days!!! He says that I need a new dual mask flywheel. That the clutch has actually flaked off and started gunking this thing up. He says that this is from hard driving. How could this be? It has been there since the day I bought the car!!! With 34 miles on it. WTF?!?!?!

This job should have taken one (two tops) day to resolve. Now I am out another 3-4 weeks... and my car is STILL tore apart in the shop?

ANy SuggEsTIons?? I aM LooooSSing it!!!

They have records of your complaints? Tell 'em you want a loaner!

I'd demand a S4 for a loaner!

Your warranty allows the dealer to give you a car to use at no charge.....

Default Contact AoA (more)

and keep a record of everything you have done, everyone you spoke to, everything they told you. AoA is not likely to be much help, but you need to establish a record of going through all of Audi's proper channels before you seek legal redress.

If they will not give you a loaner, you should rent a car (a basic 4 door sedan, nothing too fancy). Keep all receipts. The idea is too take reasonable steps to deal with your situation with a view towards suing them for reimbursement (you are going to be out of pocket for a while though).

You also need to find out if there are lemon laws in your state. I don't know where you live, but if your state has lemon laws you might be able to persuade the dealer to cooperate. In NY, if a car as spent 30 or more days in the shop in the first 12 months of ownership, that qualifies for replacement under the lemon laws.

Sorry to hear about your grief. You have to let them know that, although you are basically a nice guy, you will not stand for being jerked around and you are serious about enforcing your legal rights. Them telling you that your problem was the result of "hard driving" was a shot across your bow. You need to get serious about this right away or risk taking a major screwing from them.

Good luck

Default Also keep a record of the number of days your car is out of commission...

You should be able to extend your basic warranty.

For example, if your car is out for 30 days (a month) because Audi can't get a part, you should be able to add another 30 days to your warranty. I read this in one of the Audi Service Bulletins while looking for another issue.

IMHO get them to put everything in writing...diagnosis and all. You'll have a way to fight them.
