What would the general motoring public do if I put a little yellow Post-It note with a friendly....
reminder stating "Kindly watch your doors" on their window when parked in a spot that, if not carefull, could perhaps produce a door ding?? Am I asking for trouble??

It would be terribly rude and I'll bet you'd get more than a few dings BECAUSE of it
How would you react if you came out of the store to find someone leaning against your fender, putting a flyer under your windshield wiper? Same thing in my mind. Don't mess with other people's stuff.
