What's the widest tire that will fit on 2001.5 Sport wheels?
I'd sure like to switch to something a bit wider - there's NO overhang at all with the stock Pirelli P6000s. (Can you say, "gimme a curb-rash"?)

I believe 235/45R17 is as big as you can go with sport suspension.
This is for the quattro suspension. Any larger and you get rubbing with the lower suspension and/or fenders. You could go with a 40 series tire but this gives a slightly larger speedo error and a harsher ride(2.3% too high a reading vs. 1.4% too slow for 45 series).
