my front wheel bearings have been making quite a bit of noise recently so i brought it to laurel audi about a month ago. they shook it off saying it was tire noise, but after putting on all 4 summer wheels, the noise was still present.

since i'm planning to drive down to the apr bbq, i wanted to get the bearings fixed before i left, so i took the car to the closest dealership (schaumburg) and they're charging me for the bearing replacement saying it's not covered under warranty due to my modified suspension.

the guy from schaumburg audi just called and said the driver's side needs to be replaced too, but i told him not to change that one as i'm not about to pay $800 to have both sides fixed.

i searched the archives and it seems like some people have had theirs replaced under warranty, even with modified suspension components. has anyone else had luck (good or bad) in getting these replaced under warranty?

i'm thinking i can just take the car back to laurel after the bbq and see if they'll replace the driver's side bearing under warranty since they generally give more slack with modified cars than schaumburg.

I have the feeling that this particular dealer would still warranty the bearings even with my CO's.
