Default pretty sure the ecu can work without the maf

so the turbo should be working as well.

Default If the ECU goes into limp-mode, it could be limiting boost....

unplug the MAF and see how it runs.

If it runs better with the MAF unplugged, then you have a bad MAF.

The only way your turbo would stop spooling is if it's seized or if you stop your car, you always have exhaust pressure as long as your car is running so of course it's not just gonna stop spooling from something like a bad air mass sensor.

Default I think the question was more towards

if the ECU loses the MAF signal, does the ECU just keep the wastegate open? or something like that.

Default Yeah, thats what i meant.

Seemed kinda strange that the day my MAF went bad is when i stopped getting any boost at all.
