Default Heh.... it happens to me *plenty* of times.

I figured it was just a mishap considering the amount of time you have been around here : P

Default on my 96 2.8 when my oil temp started climbing

it was the coolant. turned into a clogged radiator. change and do a thorough flush of the coolant system, esp open the plug on the block. When I opened that one the crud just poured out. Hope your rad hasn't clogged yet, do the change asap. the coolant is not life time as Audi claims.

Default mine is quite high compared to others, at least 225 usually 250 sometimes even 275 . . .

and it has always been like that since i bought it about 50K ago. It goes to 250F at 70-80 mph cruising, and 275F when I'm doing 90 plus or towing a trailer 70-80mph.

According to Audi though, it isn't hot until your light comes on or it is in the red...
