While we're on the subject of window tinting...
I'm thinking about putting some of that self-stick
tint plastic on the rear window to keep the
sun out of my daughter's eyes (she's in a
rear facing child seat - per my sig).
Will the tint mess up the autodimming rearview
(since nothing else will be tinted)?
Any experiences?
Should I just suck it up and put up one of
those suction-cup child shades?
Thanks all!

IMHO...
You should just tint all windows. If you are not into the dark stuff you can put on 35% tint. This will provide your daughter with protection from the sun's rays.
I think that the suction cup thingies look crappy (IMO). I also think just slapping down some self stick tint on one window will look funny.
Again, if you throw on some 35% you should be giving her adequate protection from the sun (provided that you get the kind - which most do now a days - that protects against UV rays, etc.). IMO I think this will also enhance, not hinder, the looks of your car.
But then again... don't listen to me. The other side of me says that you should run out and get one of those suction cup shades with Burt and Ernie on it :-)
I want to state again that this is all just my opnion........... I am sure there are some that will want to disagree. :^)

i'm going with the audi rear window screen (#8D5 064 360), and dark tint on rear passenger windows. if i end up hating the rear screen, i'll tint there too.

For that purpose you're much better off getting the rear window sunshade.
Go to the Audi Boutique site and go to A4/Travel Convenience/Rear Window Sunshade.

Audi Boutique Site

Elmo would be cool. :-)
Shade may be the way to go....completely blocking out all the sun. I would do what boki is planning though. Tint and then try the shade. At least that way you also have a look that is a bit more uniform.....
....it would be even cooler if you could rumage up an old "Little Mermaid" screen.... now that would be kewl.....:-)
