White Smoke

I just got done putting my car back together after replacing my piston rings and now I've got tons of white smoke. I replaced the head gasket and head bolts, so I know thats not the problem. I took the head to the machine shop and they told me that the head was good to go. I let the car run for about 5 mins. The coolant level seems to be perfect. Once the car is off it doesn't leak any coolant. The smoke doesn't really smell sweet and it doesn't smell like burning oil. I haven't checked to see if there is any coolant in the oil yet. I did notice that it was spitting out fluid from the tailpipe I took some pictures. I couldn't tell if it was oil or coolant or both.

http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/126543/exhaust_pic_001.jpg</a

are you sure you oriented the piston rings correctly?
the "gap of each ring" must be oriented in a specific direction with reference to the engine. Also did you damage the oil rings/replace them as well?
If you are leaking oil into the combustion chamber it will not smell like oil on the way out of the exhaust pipe. My rule of thumb is that if it is white smoke, check two things:
if it is sweet - its coolant, which you stated it was not.
check to see if it has a bluish hue - usually oil then.
My guess is that the piston rings were not oriented correctly or you clocked the oil ring and it is nolonger oriented correctly.
Edit: JE piston ring orientation (see bottom of pdf)

also note that i'm not stating that this is the correct orientation for your application...
just stating that there is a specific orientation for the rings. Check with the company you bought the rings from and/or the maker of the rings.

Re: are you sure you oriented the piston rings correctly?
I don't know I just followed the directions that came with goetze ring kit. Gap of each ring are you talking about the way the 3 rings line up? What does clock ring mean? I replaced all 3 parts of the rings i don't know there specific names. I'm pretty sure that it is just burning oil I just went out to the car and it is dripping oil from the exhaust.

I suppose it could be the ring gap or orientation...
The ring gap is the space in the slit of ring. You should place the ring in the cylinder (just the ring). Use the piston to make sure it is sitting parallel to the top/bottom of the cylinder by placing it in and pushing the ring till it sits against the piston. Then check the gap using a set of feeler gauges. There is a minimum gap that you must have in the ring.
The ring orientation refers to the direction this gap is facing. Each of the compression rings as well as the oil ring have specific directions they should face with respect to the engine.
