i've seen some other posts that he's had some issues getting certain things to work (AM band and backlighting). Maybe he's around and can enlighten us some more. A FAQ in the making 
... I'd love to upgrade my old Delta.

the reason why AM won't work probably is b/c that was an European HU
European AM increment different than in US.
When svtweb (sp?)on VWVortex tried to make the NAV Plus working on North American cars he ran into the same problem.
So I presume if you are lucky (or rich) enough to acquire a North American unit everything should work.
Besides, who still listen to AM?

Yup, guilty as charged...
I have not made any furhter attempt at working out the small bugs. But from what I gather the backlight feature is operated by a low frequency CAN-BUS which my car does not have. I think some of the later ones may have it, but then again they probably have the Symphony so mute point. As for the AM issue I think it's b/c my unit is european, so it tunes on opposite frequency intervals than the US models, hence no AM reception. However I can tune FM by 0.1MGhz if I like...
I also have not figured out the CD changer part, but I don't really care about that either for now.
