Default Why is 2000 A4 1.8T is the worst 1.8T?

I saw a post saying 00 A4 1.8T is the worst among all the 1.8T? Can someone tell me why?
I have a 00 1.8T with garret chip, and I don't think there is anything wrong with the car.
Thanks.

it is already DBW, but not yet the upgraded engine (150hp), so can't get GIAC X chip for it.

So what is X-chip? What are the pros and cons?

Maybe the worst for high-performance tuning... I'm sure the car itself is just fine.

Default like Dave mentioned, it has to do with tuning abilities - there's nothing wrong with the car...

You can tune other cars more - X chip gives you more boost, hence more power/torque.

Yes there are cons - higher boost may decrease engine/turbo life in the long run.

Default What do you mean? Like turbo upgrade?

Did you mean putting a K04 turbo? So if 00 and 01
both upgrade to K04 turbo, the 01 will gain more power???

The DBW throttle supposedly causes trouble with the "big" turbo upgrades like GT-25 and T-28

probably not, just won't be as fast as a 99.5 or a 2001 with the same upgrades

Default Research this upgrade carefully . . .

I'm out of the loop (haven't been paying much attention lately), but there were signifcant issues with K04 software for DBW cars recently. It might have been just 2001 models - I'm not sure of all the details. Also, it could be resolved by now (so no flames please, K04 guys!) Search the archives before you spend your dough.
