along those lines if i want to see who's car is faster in a straight line. NOT "u wanna RACE". How can u possibly race on the streets, the word itself makes one sound like a 2 year old. And the stranger u "raced" and beat on the hi-way might not know ur intentions.
Sorry, just getting sick of all this "race" ****.

Doesn't matter what you call it, if you're racing, you're racing.
I really don't understand what distinction you're drawing. You say you'll ask someone to "go at it" in order to "see who's car is faster in a straight line". Am I missing something? Isn't this who's-car-is-faster exercise called racing? You also say, "the word itself makes one sound like a 2 year old". So using the word "race" is immature but actual street racing...excuse me, I meant seeing who's car is faster in a straight line on a public street...isn't? Maybe I'm just tired this late at night, but I don't get it.

heheh... don't race my stock 1.8T much, but...
back when I could actually win a few, we would usually say "wanna run it?" If you said "you wanna go at it?" to somebody here, they would probably get out and roll up their sleeves...

perhaps this will help.
race (ras)
n.
1.Sports.
a.A competition of speed, as in running or riding.
b.races A series of such competitions held at a specified time on a regular course: a fan of the dog races.
2.An extended competition in which participants struggle like runners to be the winner: the presidential race.
I don't think I saw that you can't be a 4 door in there. Perhaps I should re-read it.
