why has no one created this solution to the wheel gap problem
Hey AW,
I know that many of you are purists and that suspension mods are made for greater hug of the road, but like many the wheel gap issue for me is a cosmetic one because, although I know that one can obtain close to the same ride comfort with the correct suspension mod, I too am wary of losing any comfort.
However, like so many the suspension mod has eluded me primarilly for financial reasons, house payments, sons schooling etc.
So what I was wondering was why has a company like LLTek, not created body parts that could be attached to the body that would extend the length of the wheel fender, to give the illusion that there was less of a gap.
I realize that the suspension mod from a cosmetic standpoint is not only about covering the wheel well from our sensitive eyes but also that there is the visual effect of the entire vehicle being lowered which gives it a more prowling effect. But again I am trying to find a cost effective solution.
We have the M3 spoiler than is tape stuck and that requires minor shaping in order to conform to the shape of the trunk. We have lowers that are bolted to the body.
Why has no one designed and manufacturer slightly flexible pieces that we could either attach by 3M tape or bolt onto the wheel fenders ?
Or has anyone seen or heard of this and I simply am not able to find it ?
One day I will eventually buy that suspension I so desire but that is not going to happen tomorrow. Until then I would gladly pay a couple of hundred dollars on some quality pieces that I could apply to the areas I refer to in order to hide the wheel well.
any thoughts ?
Lookin forward to the replies on this one.
Thank you,
Patrick

Re: why has no one created this solution to the wheel gap problem
I hope that the readers who check my initial question are using the foresight and creativity necessary to comtemplate what I am suggesting.
I will re-iterate that the are a healthy list of items that AW'ders attach to their cars that are made with quality and are almost seemless attachements to their cars, like the M3 spoiler. If designed properly.
It would have to be seemless or as seemless as one could get it.
I am not suggesting a Jeep like, huge gapped attachement.
Thanks,

I'm actually surprised that LLTek hasn't done this already. It would fit in well with their designs

Uh.... think it through a little further
You're trying to improve the look of your car, but adding something like that would ONLY have a negative impact on the look. You'd have things sticking out on each corner, it would look absolutely terrible. Gap is better.

What you're talking about would look a lot like the allroad or something...
With fender "extensions" /trim like the allroad, it could *maybe* look OK if really done right. You're not crazzy, I know what you mean... BUT like others said, why do that when suspension wouldn't be much more (if any more really)
