Wife wants me to sell my 1996 A4 2.8 Quattro
My A4 has been the shop eleven times since last June. It has just come out of the 75k miles warranty.
Problems have included replacement of the air conditioning, replacement of head gaskets, replacement of a buckled dash, replacement of the stereo and numerous other minor problems.
Is it the car? Or the dealers I go to?
I like the car, but I can never drive it because it is always in the shop.
What should I do?

Dump any car that gives you that many problems. If you really like the Audi check the new ones out. Given the types of problems you've had I would hesitate to say its the dealers you go to...unless these are recurring probs. I never go to dealers now that I am out of warranty. I just hope you have been victimized by first model year bugs and not probs that will show up as chronic to all our A4's.
