Will cleaning the engine help with anything?? If so, how do I clean it?

Default Will cleaning the engine help with anything?? If so, how do I clean it?
I have seen many chemicals in auto stores for cleaning the car's engine, how do I clean it myself and what brand is the best? etc

Default ah, gas additives can help, ive heard chevron w/techron cleaner is good....dont know tho. stay away
from oil additives, those are bad, bad news.

that chevron stuff is the only thing i have used that I actually notice a difference with.

Default would it make a difference between the v6 & the turbo. would putting additives in the engine affect
the turbo?

Default not gas additives...oil additives yes. the turbo (k03) is cooled by oil, but only exhaust gases
come in, then it just compresses intake air.

Default yeah, i need to get some of it,,,,i think i might have a stuck lifter valve, which seems odd given t
hat i just had mobil 1 installed....maybe all the gunk is coming out, ugly dino oil.
